Police activity week of 08-23-09 through 08-30-09

08-24-09 12:24 Hours – Ptl. M. McGinnis – Theft-$200 & Over- Auto Accessories
Unit block Ardmore Ave. – Victim reported to police that a Garmin GPS unit valued at $200 was removed from her unlocked Honda Odyssey sometime overnight.


08-25-09 20:26 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly Conduct
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – the reporting party stated the victims advised him that a black male wearing a white shirt and blue jeans exposed his genitals to them as he walked past the business window. Reporting party viewed the actor entering a nearby address. Investigation to continue.


08-25-09 8-25-09 20:05 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly Conduct
Belmont Ave. – Responded and contact was made with the victim. The victim and witnesses stated they were playing basketball in the park when a group of males entered and an altercation ensued. The victim was struck in the face. The offenders left the area. Identification was made of the offenders and they will be cited for disorderly conduct.


08-25-09 22:58 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Robbery-Strong Arm-Highway
200 block N. Maple Ave. – Report of a robbery that occurred 20 minutes ago. On arrival, the victim stated he received a food order for 200 block N. Maple. When the victim arrived at the residence he was approached from behind by two black male juveniles. One of the males grabbed the food and the other male tried to strike the victim. The victim tussled with the actors, then chased them South on Maple. Investigation to continue.


08-26-09 02:40 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Curfew Law
N. Lansdowne Ave. – Received a report of a suspicious black male wearing a gray shirt & blue jeans riding a bike in the area of Lansdowne & Plumstead. This officer viewed the offender at Lansdowne & Stewart Aves. The male stated he was lost and was talking with his mother on the phone attempting to find his way home. The mother stated her son was a juvenile and had been trying to find his way home for the last two hours. This officer transported the offender to police headquarters to wait for his mother. Provided offender with a copy of curfew ordinance and the mother signed an acknowledgement of curfew violation form and took custody of her son. The listed offender has an extensive criminal history.


08-26-09 10:05 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Disorderly Conduct
200 block Wabash Ave. – Responded for a neighbor dispute, not in progress. The victim reported that the offender sprayed her house in an ongoing neighbor dispute. The offender claimed that her hose sprung a leak. Due to the escalating problems, the offender was advised that citations would be issued if we returned. Second call the offender was arrested and cited for persistent disorderly conduct.


08-26-09 21:39 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – All other Vandalism
200 block Green Ave. – The victim stated he was sitting in his home and heard a loud bang at his front door. When he went to investigate he observed a dent in the front storm door. The victim did not see anyone.


08-27-09 14:30 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Theft-$200 & Over – From Auto
100 block E. Essex Ave. – Victim reports that sometime overnight, unknown actor/s entered his 2002 Chevy Impala and rummaged through the contents. The actor/s took a book of about 30 CD-s valued at $300.00. The victim is sure he locked his vehicle.


08-28-09 00:04 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics- Possession
W. Baltimore Ave. – this officer first observed the defendant walking east on W. Baltimore Ave. The offender appeared to be intoxicated and was walking with a staggered gait and this officer watched the offender and observed a black male approached him, they met and the black male exchanged something in each and then turned and walked in the opposite direction. This officer parked the police vehicle exited the vehicle and met the offender. The offender had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. The offender was advised of the reason for the stop. The defendant admitted to buying two bags of crack cocaine from the black male. The defendant was taken into custody. The suspected crack cocaine did field test positive for the presence of cocaine. The defendant stated he does not know the guy and that he just bought off of him for the first time tonight and only has a cell phone number. The defendant will be charged with drug possession.


08-29-09 05:20 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Burglary-Attempt-Residence Day
Unit block Sayers Ave. – Police received a call of a burglary in progress with a black male partially inside of the rear bedroom window. On police arrival the victim stated that she was lying in bed when she suddenly awoke, she then viewed a black male leaning inside her right rear bedroom window, the male motioned to her with his finder to come to him and stated “Come to me or I will shot you.” The victim backed out of the bedroom and shouted to the black male that she was calling the police; the black male then exited the window and ran out of the area. The victim stated that she could identify the actor.


08-30-09 15:47 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Counterfeiting
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – This officer was in line at the Wawa when the shift manager handed me a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. The reporting party stated that a black male customer had advised the reporting party that he had been in the store earlier in the day and had made a purchase and paid with a hundred dollar bill. The employee that handled the transaction had apparently provided change to the customer. The counterfeit bill was apparently part of this change. The customer, upon realizing that the bill was fake, returned it to the store and reported to the manager. The counterfeit bill was turned over to the detectives along with a copy of this report.
