Police activity week of 08-03-09 through 08-09-09

08-03-09 16:02 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Narcotics-Possession
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Defendant was observed standing in front of a store front urinating in clear view of the passing traffic and pedestrians. The defendant was stopped and observed to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A search produced A small amount of vegetable like matter suspected to be marijuana. The defendant was returned to police headquarters and processed and cited.

08-03-09 17:50 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Narcotics-Possession
Willowbrook Ave. – Police received a report of two people possibly smoking crack in Marlyn Park. This officer and Sgt. J. McCaughan observed two white females sitting on a tree stump near the creek. The sergeant observed one defendant holding a metal tube to her lips and was about to light the tube when she saw police and quickly placed the tube on the ground. Other paraphernalia was found in/around the defendants. Upon a search this officer found one small used yellow glassine bag containing white residue, one small metal rod and one cellophane containing brillo. Both defendants were taken into custody and will be charged accordingly.

08-03-09 18:11 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-Under $50-From Auto
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – The victim reports unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle and removed a change purse containing approximately $5.00 in change.

08-03-09 18:41 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan- Theft-Under $50-From Auto
Unit block W. Albemarle Ave. – Victim reports unknown person entered his unlocked vehicle overnight removing approximately $5.00 in change.

08-06-09 03:12 Hours – Ptl. K. Kienzle – Assault-Hands, Fists, Feet
Unit block Windermere Ave. – Victim transported to the hospital after being battered by her boyfriend. The defendant had left the area; a warrant will be issued for his arrest.

08-08-09 Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-$50 to $200-bicycles
200 block Windermere Ave. – The victim reports his Tony Hawk BMX style mountain bike was secured to his front porch with a bike cable lock last night and when he returned this morning it was gone and the cut cable was left behind. Value of the Bike $150.00

08-08-09 13:11 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan -Theft-$200 & Over-All Other
100 block McKinley Ave. – The victim reports his red Craftsman Walk behind lawn mower with bag was stolen from his front lawn.

08-08-09 19:24 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – theft-$200 & Over-From Building
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim reports theft of $30. Cash and approximately $2,500 in jewelry missing from her apartment, she suspects a former roommate. Investigation to continue.

08-09-09 19:30 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis- Public Drunkenness
Runnemede and W. Baltimore Ave. – Defendant observed staggering in the middle of W. Baltimore Avenue. The defendant was taken into custody and will be cited for public drunkenness.
