Police activity week of 07-27-09 through 08-02-09

07-28-09 18:00 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – theft-$200 & Over-Bicycles
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Victim reports the theft of his Raleigh C40 18 speed bike from the bike rack across from the United Check Cashing. The locked bike was missing from the rack. Value $400.00


07-28-09 19:05 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft-$50 to $200- Bicycles
Unit block N. Wycombe Ave. – The victim reports the theft of his unlocked bike from in front of his residence. 21 speed mountain bike, bright yellow with rock shocks in the front and a black seat.


07-28-09 19:10 Hours – Pt. K. McDermott – Disorderly Conduct
Essex and Green Aves. – Report received for a black male stealing piping. This officer and Officer McGinnis did conduct a traffic stop on a truck matching the description given by the reporting party. Both offenders stated that they observed the pipes on the ground and thought they were trash. Both offenders were placed into custody and returned to police headquarters where they were issued citations. The piping was returned to Aqua water co.


07-30-09 01:08 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Burglary-Attempt-Residence-Night
Unit block Drexel Ave. – Received call for possible burglary. The victims heard someone trying to get into a door on the west side of the residence. The victim had a flashlight on which he believes alerted the burglars because the victim saw two subjects running away from the house. This officer and Officer Meehan of ELPD were responding when we observed two of the defendants running, defendants were taken into custody. While the two defendants were in custody the third defendant did approach police and tried to convince the police to let the two defendants go. The third defendant was taken into custody. All three were returned to Lansdowne police headquarters and will be charged.


07-30-09 19:38 Hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – All Others – Contempt of Court
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Defendant in violation of protection from abuse order. Defendant was taken into custody.


07-30-09 16:40 Hours – Sgt. K. Rutherford – Forgery
100 block E. Baltimore Ave.-Report of stolen prescription passed at CVS pharmacy. Spoke with the manager of the store and will contact all doctors involved and it is likely charges will be filed. Investigation to continue.


07-30-09 20:00 Hours – Sgt. K. Rutherford – Theft-$200 & Over-From Buildings
100 block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim reports a theft from her home. Various items of jewelry were taken. The only person having access to the home was a house keeper.

07-30-09 22:45 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Robbery-Attempt-Strong Arm-Highway
200 block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police received call for robbery attempt. Two black male actors in their late teens to early twenties attempted to rob the delivery driver for a pizza store. The two males did flee the scene.


08-01-09 21:50 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Criminal Mischief to Automobiles
200 block Glentay Ave. – the victim stated that he last viewed his vehicle intact at approximately 2050hours. He later heard a strange noise outside of his residence and went to investigate; he discovered that unknown actor/s had punctured the passenger side right front tire of his vehicle.
