Police activity week of 07-07-09 through 7-12-09

07-07-09 00:23 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Driving Under the Influence
N. Lansdowne Ave. – While this officer was conducting a traffic detail, a traffic stop resulted in a DUI arrest.

07-07-09 01:00 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Disorderly Conduct
E. Greenwood & N. Highland Aves. – While on patrol this officer observed three persons walking on E. Greenwood Avenue. All three stopped, two offenders were under the age of 18 years and out after curfew. All three offenders were transported to police headquarters and cited. The two juvenile offenders involved were turned over to their mothers. Both parents were advised of the curfew violation warning and that the juveniles would be cited for curfew violation if found out again after curfew.

07-07-09 09:33 Hours – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft-Under $50-Retail Theft
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. – Offender cited for retail theft from CVS store. Defendant did remove items from the store and conceal them in a tote bag.

07-07-09 12:52 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – theft-$50 to $200 from auto
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim states that her unlocked vehicle was ransacked and missing is a credit card. Victim will cancel the credit card.

07-07-09 18:00 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Theft- $200 & over from building
100 block E. Stewart Ave. – Victim states that checks are missing from his mail box. The checks are rent checks from two of his tenants. Investigation to continue.

07-08-09 23:55 Hours -Ptl C. Brown – Curfew Law -warning
E. Baltimore Ave – While on routine patrol the two offenders were viewed, when asked for ID neither could produce any and advised that they were both under 18. There were transported to police headquarters where their parents were notified and responded to retrieve their children. Parent’s acknowledgment of curfew violation forms was signed and all were provided with the borough ordinance. This was the first curfew violation for both.

07-09-09 09:49 Hours- Ptl. M. McGinnis – Disorderly Conduct
100 block Midway Ave. – Report of fight in area of 100 block of Midway Ave. On police arrival the fight had moved inside the home. The offender and involved party, who are sisters, were involved in a physical altercation. The offender was being restrained by her mother. The offender refused to cooperate with parents or police. The offender was taken into custody, returned to the police station, received a citation and released.

07-09-09 15:00 Hours – Ptl C. Craig – Theft $50 to $200 – Bicycle
Unit block W. Stewart Ave. – The reporting party responded to police headquarters to report that his flat black men’s 21 speed bike wsa stolen from the rear of his property approximately 2 weeks ago. The victim reports the bike is valued at $100.00.

07-09-09 19:56 – Ptl K. Kienzle – Disorderly Conduct-Public Drunkenness
Unit block S. Wycombe Ave – Police responded to a disorderly group smoking marijuana. Located three white females standing in the parking lot of the building each were drinking a bottle of beer. There was a small bag of green vegetable like matter, a larger bag of similar matter and glass pipe commonly used in the smoking of marijuana visible through the open window of the car. All three were searched by Officer Brown and returned to police headquarters received citations and released.

07-09-09 21:15 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Robbery-Strong Arm-Commercial House
Owen Ave – Police dispatched for reports of assaults and theft of bicycles. Two victims were assaulted and their bikes taken. Two offenders were apprehended and will be charged in this offense

07-10-09 14:22 Hours – Ptl. K. McDermott – Burglary-No Force-Residence Day
100 block Madison Rd. – Victim reports his home burglarized. Missing are his firearm and $2300 in cash. Victim states that he last remembered seeing the firearm and cash on Tuesday 7/7/09 and discovered both are missing 7/10/09. The victim states he left the second floor storm door open, but the screen door was shut and locked. Firearm entered into NCIC. Investigation to continue.

01-10-09 22:45 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Robbery-Attempt-Strong Arm- Residence
100 block Windsor Ave – Owner of Best Quality reports someone tried to rob one of his delivery drivers. The victim described the offender at a black male, late teens, approximately 5’9″ tall, thin build, wearing blue jeans, a white tank top and blue and white baseball cap. The offender did flee the scene. Nothing taken from the victim.

07-11-09 10:49 Hours – Ptl. M. Mugler – Theft $50 to $200- All Other
Unit block W. Baltimore Ave. – Victim reports her black Nine West leather wallet was stolen yesterday from Wachovia Bank. The victim left her wallet on the counter at approximately 1135 hours and noticed the wallet gone at 1730 hours. The victim did cancel her credit cards in the wallet and reported theft to the bank.

07-12-09 18:39 Hours – Theft-$50 To $200-Bicycles
100 block McKinley Ave. – Victim stated his blue 10 speed mountain bike was stolen off his fire escape. Theft happened sometime over a four day period. The victim just wanted a report done for documentation.
