Police activity week of 02-23-09 through 03-01-09

02-23-09 10:44 Hours Ptl. K. Kienzle – Weapons-Possession-Knife
100 Green Ave (PWHS) – Juvenile arrested for possessing a knife on school property. He was handcuffed and returned to the Lansdowne Police Station. The juvenile offender was processed and released to his mother. The juvenile petition and subpoena list were completed and mailed to the District Attorney’s office.

02-25-09 14:19 Hours Ptl. M. Mugler – Disorderly Conduct
100 Block of E. Baltimore (CVS) – Radio call that there were two black females possibly shoplifting with one wearing black pants and a black hoodie with a design on the back. The second Black female was described as being taller and having long curly hair. Both actors were detained and searched in relation to possible retail theft but no product from CVS was found on their person. The first actor did have a small baggie containing a small amount of suspected marijuana in her pocket. She was placed under arrested and returned to police headquarters. She was cited for disorderly conduct.

02-25-09 16:49 Hours Sgt. K. Rutherford – Forgery
Unit Block of W. Baltimore (United Check Cashing) Police received a call from the owner of United Check Cashing, the victim reported that a subject tried to pass a fraudulent check at his store but the subject had left the area in a black BMW. The victim informed officers that he just received an alert in reference to fraudulent checks being passed which are issued from the County of Delaware Commissioners Collection in Media. The victim will supply police with a copy of the surveillance video and did supply the fraudulent check. Investigation to continue.

02-26-09 16:55 Hours Ptl. M. Mugler – Trespassing of real property
Unit Block of E. Baltimore -Victim told officers that the offender just left his property. The offender was just warned by this officer last evening that he was not welcome at the business. He was informed that if he returned to the property under any circumstances, he would be cited from criminal trespass. According to the victim the offender crossed E. Baltimore Ave put his hand on the door to the victim’s property. He then placed a book and several pieces of literature at the victim’s doorstep. The papers of paper consisted of handwriting that just rambled on and did not make sense. Officers went over to where the offender lives, but he was not in his apt. We informed the victim the offender will be cited via mail for Criminal Trespass.

02-26-09 10:18 Hours Ptl. M. Mugler – Theft $200 & over from building
100 Block Green Ave (PWHS) Report of theft of two movie projectors sometime after 14:30 hours 2/25/09.

02-26-09 07:13 Hours Ptl. T. Selimis – All other vandalism
Unit Block of E. Baltimore Ave (St. Philomena Church) Police dispatched to the church for the report of vandalism. Upon arrival police spoke with the maintenance worker, who stated one of the gym windows were shot with a BB gun over night. This officer observed a small hole which appeared to be a BB gun pellet hole, in one of the windows. At approximately 16:00 hours Father Paul Castellani spoke with this officer and advised that another window was shot but by a BB gun.

02-26-09 15:36 Hours Ptl. T. Selimis Disorderly Conduct
Unit Block of N. Wycombe Ave. – On the above date and time Father Paul Castellani called Lansdowne Headquarters and advised that a juvenile was shooting a BB gun next to Saint Philomena’s Church and believes he is the one shooting out the gym windows. Police arrived and was met by the mother of the offender coming down the stairs of her apartment with a BB gun in her hand. She states her son was playing with the gun and she did not want him to have it and the police to take it. Father Paul identified the offender. Advised the mother that her son will be cited through the mail.

02-27-09 03:01 Hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly Conduct
200 Block W. Marshall Rd. – The complainant/victim called police after he was assaulted by his live in girlfriend with a pool stick. Complainant/.victim did have a ripped sleeve on his left arm but no visible injuries. The offender also grabbed a knife and slashed the two right side tires of the complaint/victims BMW. Offender arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment. She was transported to police headquarters and issued two citations for same and she was advised not to return to the house without a police escort.

02-27-09 13:30 Hours Ptl. C.Schiazza – Burglary-Forced Entry-Residence-Day
100 Block S. Lansdowne Avenue-
The victim reported that he was in his bedroom when a male that was unknown to him entered his bedroom. The victim confronted the male and the male told him that he was in the wrong apartment. The victim stated that he followed the male into the living room and the male closed the window in his living which the victim reported he had left closed. Both the victim and the male left his apartment and the victim knocked on his neighbor’s doors to see if they knew the male. Neither neighbor knew the male. According to the victim the male showed them identification and he thought the address on the ID was 4434 Old York Road, Philadelphia. The victim described the male as being a black male wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and a black Yankees cap. There were reports and sightings of a male matching that description in the rear yards of several homes on Pennock Terrace. At approx 1508 hours Delaware County Deputy Sheriff Michael Taylor spotted the defendant in the area of Lansdowne Ave and Lincoln Avenue. He was taken into custody. The defendant will be charged on a criminal complaint.

02-28-09 14:20 Hours Ptl. K. Kienzle – Criminal Mischief to Automobiles
100 Block Windsor Ave- Police responded to vandalism discovered. On arrival the victim stated that sometime between 1730 hours yesterday and 1400 hours today, the rear window of her black Buick was shattered. The object used to damage the vehicle was taken away by the actor/s. Victim has no idea who would break her window or why.

02-28-09 23:28 Hours Ptl. M McGinnis – Theft- under $50 -auto parts
Unit Block E. Stewart Ave – Victim reported that sometime in the last 24 hours her PA registration plate was removed from her vehicle which was parked in the rear of her residence.
