Police activity week of 01-19-09 through 01-25-09

01-19-09 00:34 Hours Ptl. K. Kienzle – Disorderly Conduct
100 Block McKinley Ave. – Police responded to a loud radio call. On arrival music from the 1st floor apartment could be clearly heard from outside the building. The resident of the 1st floor apartment had been given a verbal warning on 12-15-08 that any further calls of this type would result in a citation. Police made contact with offender and she was advised that she would be receiving a citation in the mail.


01-19-09 13:11 Hours Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under influence
Unit Block of N. Lansdowne Ave. (Wawa) – Responded to the Wawa store on N. Lansdowne avenue for a report of a possible emergency through On-Star in vehicle safety and security systems. Located offender inside a black 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. Offender appeared to be under the influence a controlled substance and did fall out of the vehicle. Offender arrested for driving under the influence. Offender processed and he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test of his blood at the hospital.


01-19-09 12L45 Hours Sgt. J. McCaughan – Theft $200 & over-Retail theft
100 Block E. Baltimore Ave. (CVS) – Received a call for a theft of baby formula that had just occurred at the CVS Store. The actor was described as a white male, thin build, wearing a black and gray jacket, black baseball hat, long gray scarf, blue jeans walking west on Baltimore carrying a large white bag containing merchandise. Police were in the area within seconds of receiving the call but the actor was gone. The store security cameras captured the theft and this officer will obtain a copy of the disk tomorrow. Incident remains under investigation.


01-19-09 21:30 Hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Driving under the influence
E. Greenwood Ave & N. Lansdowne Ave. – Offender arrested for driving under the influence following a motor vehicle accident. Defendant did state that his wife was driving; witness states the male not his wife was driving. I asked the wife who was driving and she stated the defendant was driving. The defendant did also have drug paraphnaila sticking out of his pocket. Defendant placed into custody for Driving under the influence.


01-20-09 15:43 Ptl. M. Mugler – Theft under $50. Retail theft
Unit Block E. Baltimore Ave. (Rite Aid) – Received call for retail theft from the Rite Aid Store. Spoke to the witness who pointed to a white male in black clothing that was up the street in front of the church. The witness showed me an empty box of Nyquil Cold Tablets and an empty bottle of Rosenberger’s Chocolate mile that the offender left right next to the empty box. I approached the offender he was immediately patted down and found to be in possession of the tablets that were missing. Offender placed into custody and returned to police headquarters. He was charged with retail theft.


01/21/09 08:00 Hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly Conduct
100 Block Green Ave (PWHS) – Report of disorderly group at the High School with several subjects in custody for fighting. Two returned to police headquarters and cited for disorderly conduct and released.


01-21-09 12:03Hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly Conduct
100 Block Green Ave (PWHS) on arrival several subjects were in custody in school office. 2 offenders were trying to start a fight in the boy’s bathroom with a third person. Two offenders returned to Lansdowne headquarters and issued disorderly conduct citations and released.


01-22-09 16:58 Hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft- under $50. From auto
200 Block Cooper Ave – Victim reports unknown actor entered his unlocked garage and entered two vehicles in the garage. A neighbor called police headquarters and she believes that she may have seen the actor the night of the theft, black male, black and gray hoodie wearing dark colored jeans, he was approximately 5’10” and a thin build, this witness never called police. Missing from victims vehicles is some loose change.


01/22/09 15:01 Hours Sgt. B. Eidell Theft $200 & over from buildings.
100 Block Green Ave (PWHS) – A teacher at the high school reports lap top #16 missing from the computer cabinet. No suspects at this time. Investigation to continue. Value of lap top $1,000.


01-23-09 11:19 Hours Ptl. M. Mugler – Disorderly Conduct
100 Block Green Ave (PWHS) – Met in school office with Asst Principal and offender. The offender arrived late to class and was seen passing around a $100.00 bill and showing it off to the students. The offender was taken to the Asst. Principals office. The offender was searched by school authorities and found to have two small marihuana cigarettes in his pocket and additional money. Offender was transported back to police headquarters and cited for disorderly conduct and given a 10 day out of school suspension and must return with his mother. Offender’s mother did cone to police headquarters and stated she believed the money her son had was hers as she is missing approximately $5,000.00 from her home.


01-24-09 14:31 Hours Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly Conduct-obscene language
Unit Block Fairview Ave-Received call for illegally parked vehicles. Made contact with property owners and both stated there are three Lexus vehicles parked in their driveway that do not belong there. Complainant stated on a prior occasion she attempted to talk with the owner of the vehicles about blocking her driveway and the vehicle owner yelled at her in a threatening manner which made her scared to approach them. While this officer attempted to determine ownership of the vehicles a black female came out of the neighboring house stating “What are you doing they are my cars.”. This officer informed the actor that I was following through on a complaint of illegally parked cars. The actor stated “That aint their property.” Actor continued to yell at this officer and was very uncooperative. She began walking toward her back door and yelled _you’re all a bunch of assholes”, when I asked what the actor said she responded “you heard me.” There were several neighbors out and some children. The actor/offender will receive a citation for disorderly conduct and her vehicles were ticketed.


01-24-09 23:11 Hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft $200 & over from auto
Unit Block of W. Stewart Ave – Victim was returning home from a sports event when he observed the interior light on in his vehicle. The then observed a male dressed in dark clothing exit the vehicle and began to walk away south bound on Owen Ave. The male was carrying a gym bag with him. Victim checked the interior of his car and discovered his black gym bag embroidered “Lansdowne Fire Company Savior of the Seventh” missing from the car. Located in bag multiple DVD. Also missing victims Sony PSP red in color and a pair of black leather gloves. Vehicle was unlocked at time of theft. Estimated loss $600.00
