Police activity week of 01-12-09 through 01-18-09
01-12-09 01:37 Hours Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly Conduct
300 Block Barker Ave. – Call for domestic fight between mother and daughter, mother possibly drunk. On arrival police made contact with both parties and friend of daughter. The mother was cursing and screaming and was told numerous times to calm down but she refused and continued yelling. Mother stated to police she had punched her daughter because she is out of control. Police detected a strong odor of alcohol on mother’s person. Mother was observed irate, incoherent and trying to fight her daughter. Both mother and daughter returned to Lansdowne headquarters and cited for disorderly conduct.
01-12-09 21:13 Hours Ptl. C.J. Schiazza – Rape by force
Scottdale Road-Hoffman Park – Victim reports that on 1-12-09 at approximately 00:30 hours she entered Dan’s Bar (Baltimore Avenue) where she encountered a black male approximately 5’6″ to 5’9″, medium build last seen wearing dark baggy clothes and possibly having a beard. At approximately 01:30 hours she was exiting the bar, when the same black male from earlier asked if she would like a ride home since it was too cold to walk. Victim reports that they both entered the males’ vehicle, described as a big white suv with leather interior and all of the gadgets, TV’s etc. The driver headed west on Baltimore making a quick stop at the Sunoco Gas Station in East Lansdowne. The male driver continued west on Baltimore avenue, when the victim advised him to turn left on S. Union Ave, the driver continued down Baltimore, the victim again told driver to turn left when the approached S. Wycombe. The victim states she began yelling and screaming at the driver to pull over and let her out, the driver refused. The driver/offender drove to Hoffman Park pulled the victim out of the vehicle dragged her near the creek and sexual assaulted her. After the offender raped the victim he kicked her and jumped back in the SUV and drove off. The victim states when she was finally able to get her bearings and walked up Scottdale Road to her home. Police were notified by Delaware County Memorial Hospital of the rape and police responded and too the report. Investigation ongoing.
01-13-09 23:46 Hours Ptl. K. Kienzle – Assault to rape-other forcible means
Unit Block N. Wycombe Ave. – Police responded to emergency room at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital for an assault report. On arrival Mother of the victim (four year old male) reported that her son had been sexually assaulted. Sergeants Donegan & Rutherford wee notified and Sgt. Donegan responded to the hospital. Investigation to continue by Detectives.
01-14-09 08:05 Hours Ptl. D. Schiazza – Disorderly Conduct
Green Avenue-(PWHS) – Responded to the high school for a report of a disorderly group of female students in the office. Witness reports offenders had all been pushing one another. Three female students cited for disorderly conduct.
01-14-09 18:55 Hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – theft $50. To $200 from auto
100 Block Owen Ave. – Victim reports that unknown actor entered her unlocked 2006 Kia Sonoma SUV and removed $30 cash and her call phone. Phone taken was red Nokia.
01-14-09 20:04 Hours Sgt. J. McCaughan – theft $200 & over from buildings
100 Block Bryn Mawr Ave. – Victim reports theft of a bicycle from her locked garage. Victim heard her garage door opening and went outside to find a white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt over a baseball cap in her garage. The victim yelled for him to get out of the garage and the actor calmly removed her husband’s dark green Bianchi/Hybrid bicycle and rode down the driveway going south on Ardmore ave. Police and assisting units were there within minutes but found no one matching that description in the area. Actor broke out the plexi-glass window and reached in and opened the garage door.
01-16-0901:06 Hours Sgt. J. McCaughan – Assault-hands, fists, feet.
200 Block Glentay Ave. – Report of a domestic where one party suffered from lacerations to the arms. The defendant came home intoxicated and attacked the victim. On arrival defendant was found to be heavily intoxicated. The defendant admitted she punched through the glass window in the rear door. The glass windows on rear door were smashed out and there was a tremendous amount of blood both inside and outside of the house in area of the door. The defendant was taken to Delaware County Memorial hospital and treated. She will be charged with Simple Assault.
01-16-09 10:21 Hours Sgt. B. Eidell – theft $50 to $200 bicycles
Unit Block E. Stratford Ave. – Report of the theft of a woman’s 21 speed bike from the garage in rear of property. Not much information on the bike.
01-16-09 00:00 Hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Criminal Mischief to automobiles
100 Block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim called to report that an unknown actor had punched in the passenger side window of her 2002 Ford Escape. This officer responded and viewed damage to vehicle. Victim believes this is a result of a neighbor dispute.
01-17-09 02:49 Hours Ptl. C.J. Schiazza – Disorderly Conduct
Unit Block of N. Lansdowne Ave. (Wawa store) Victim (store clerk) reports that two customers had been in the store. They are described as a black female and a black male. The female offender began yelling, cursing and threatened to punch the clerk for not selling her tobacco product, the couple did not have identification. Located the female offender and the male and they denied they were in the Wawa, but then admitted to being there but not causing any disturbance. Witnesses to the altercation advised that the female threatened to jump over the counter and beat the clerk and called her a racist. Disorderly Conduct citation will be issued to female offender.
01-18-09 01:11 Hours Ptl. K. Kienzle – Harassment
100 Block of N. Lansdowne Ave. – Victim call to police headquarters to report mental health problems of her daughter. Victim was concerned to the point that she did not feel safe sleeping in the house. While speaking with the victim a call came in from a burglary discovered and the daughter was the complainant. Responded to the apartment and used victim’s key to enter. The daughter/offender appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs. Offender was making no sense. Transported offender to Mercy Fitzgerald Crisis Center and the commitment was denied. Because of the dangerous reaction of alcohol and prescriptions, police transported offender to the emergency room and she was admitted. Citation will be issued for harassment.
