Police activity week of 11-17-08 through 11-23-08

11-17-08 12:00 hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly Conduct
100 Blk Green Ave. (PWHS) – On Friday 11-14-08 Juvenile offender while in 7th period Social Studies was advised by teacher she had to take a test. Offender complained about the test but did hand in a test sheet at the end of the period. On 11-17-08 the teacher was grading the test handed in by offender. The test had a hand written message on it which contained a threat about blowing up the PWHS. The teacher confronted the offender who stated it was just a joke. The school made contact with the offender’s legal guardian to suggest counseling. Offender cited for disorderly conduct.

11-18-08 05:41 hours Ptl. C. Schiazza- Theft $200 & over from auto
Austin Ave- Victim reports unknown person had broken the right rear passenger door window and taken the black touch screen pioneer card radio/cd player, a JL audio speaker box contain three 12 inch speakers from the vehicle. Dashboard of vehicle also damaged.

11-17-08 22:50 hours Ptl. C. Brown – Disorderly conduct-public places
While on routine patrol this officer viewed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed south on Lansdowne Ave. After stopping one vehicle a defendant issued disorderly conduct citation.

11-18-08 12:04 hours Ptl. M. McGinnis – Fraud
100 Blk E. Baltimore Ave-(CVS) -Police were dispatched to CVs Pharmacy for a report of a white male attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription. Suspect/defendant left store. The same white male then went to the Rite Aid store attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription. Defendant was taken into custody as he exited the Rite-Aid. Defendant was searched and found on his person were several pills, and four wax baggies with brown residue inside of them. Defendant arrested for fraud.

11-19-08 09:55 hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly conduct
100 Blk Green Ave. (PWHS) – Assistant Principal Cifuni called police in reference to two trespassers on school property. Two juveniles were located inside school; they gave the Assistant Principal false names and school. It was determined they were from Lower Merion High School. They had no business in PWHS. Both issued citations for disorderly conduct. Parents of juveniles were notified.

11-19-08 13:45 hours Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Disorderly Conduct
100 Blk Green Ave. (PWHS) – Received call from the high school in reference to a student in custody for drugs. Juvenile student was issued citation for disorderly conduct. Mother notified of juvenile’s arrest.

11-20-08 08:00 Sgt. J. Eisenhart -Theft-Under $50-all other
200 Blk Glentay Ave – Victim reports unknown actor did remove the PA registration plate off of his 1996 Ford Explorer that was parked in front of his home on Glentay Avenue. Registration plate number entered into NCIC.

11-21-08 03:08 hours Ptl. T. Selimis – Disorderly conduct
Greenwood & Union Aves. – While patrolling in area police observed a 1999 green Ford Contour. The vehicle was parked on Greenwood ave with the windows down and occupied by a white female. Police approached the female and observed her mumbling and detected a strong odor of alcohol on her person. The driver was placed into custody, returned to police headquarters cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and released to the custody of her boyfriend.

11/21/08 07:38 hours Ptl M. McGinnis – Theft $200 & over from auto
100 Blk N. Union Ave. – Victim reported that sometime overnight the R/R door glass on his Ford work van was smashed, the vehicle was then entered and various tolls & supplies were removed. $1825.00 worth of items taken.

11-21-08 08:30 hours Sgt. B. Eidell – Theft 4200 & over from auto
Unit blk W. Plumstead Ave.-Victims work van was broken into (entrance gained by breaking a small window on the right rear door) Due to the items stolen the actor/s would have to have a vehicle and there was most likely more than one person involved. This is one of at least two work vans that had a rear window broken and tolls stolen overnight.

11-21-08 15:21 hours Ptl.M. McGinnis – Theft $200 & over from building
100 Blk Green Ave. (PWHS) Lap top computer taken from school. Teachers indicated she last saw the missing lap top at the end of 4th period. When she opened the cart that contains the lap tops to check prior to securing for the weekend she immediately noticed that lp top #6 was missing from the cart. The cart is usually locked with a combination lock that none of the students are supposed toknow. The teacher suspects a student and will attempt to have the school investigate on Monday.
