Police activity week of 03-01-10 through 03-07-10

03-01-10 12:32 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Assaults-simple
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Police were dispatched to the high school for an assault report. On arrival the school staff reported the offender struck one of the School Resource Officers during an altercation in the cafeteria. The offender was taken into custody, returned to police headquarters, processed and charged on a juvenile petition. The offender was transported to the juvenile detention facility.


03-02-10 00:20 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
Lansdowne Ave & Baltimore Ave. – Police responded to a report of a man beating a woman in the street. This officer located the vehicle in question and while interviewing the offender it was observed he was swaying and unable to stand still and had the odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The offender was given a preliminary breath test and was over the legal limit. The offender was placed into custody for DUI.


03-02-10 08:34 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – Trespassing of real property
100 block Midway Ave. – Police responded for the report of a domestic disturbance. One involved party was transported to the Crisis center and the other person (offender) was arrested for trespass and disorderly conduct.


03-02-10 10:59 Hours – Ptl. L. Albertoli – Assault-knife or cutting instrument
E. Essex Ave at Wayne Ave. – On arrival the one male was bleeding from the hands and told this officer that another male stabbed him in the head with a sword. The victim told this officer the offender put the sword in the trunk of his car. The police learned that the incident resulted from a road rage. The offender was returned to police headquarters to be charged appropriately.


03-03-10 21:45 Hours – Sgt. B. Eidell – Disorderly conduct
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. – Police received a call for a suicidal person inside the apartment. On arrival spoke with the offender. The offender advised his friend that he had been drinking, depressed and was considering jumping off of his fire escape. The ambulance crew arrived and the offender was giving them a hard time. After attempts to calm the offender down failed he was placed in hand cuffs and transported to hospital emergency room. The emergency room advised that the crisis unit would most likely release the offender in the morning since they normally do not keep someone that made suicidal statements while intoxicated. This officer will cite the offender for D.C/ for his actions if they decide to release the offender.


03-04-10 21:35 Hours – Sgt. D. Donegan – Disorderly conduct
100 block S. Lansdowne Ave. – Offenders located in parked vehicle on private property. Suspected marijuana located in the vehicle. Offenders cited for disorderly conduct.


03-6-10 23:14 Hours – Ptl. L. Doyle – Disorderly conduct
Unit block E. Greenwood Ave. – While on patrol this officer noticed a silver Subaru Imprezza traveling east on Greenwood. Ave.. The vehicle was occupied by five white males. While speaking with the driver this officer could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car. This officer asked if they were smoking marijuana, the offender stated no, but he had a marijuana bowl on him. Received consent to search the vehicle and found a marijuana grinder in the console and three empty baggies. Only one baggie had a tiny amount of residue of a green leafy vegetable matter. Due to the honesty and high level of cooperation, the offender was told that he was going to be cited through the mail for disorderly conduct.


03-07-10 10:25 hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – theft- $50 to $200- Retail theft
Unit block N. Lansdowne Ave. (Wawa) – Responded to the Wawa store for a report of a shoplifter not in custody. The assistance Store Manager reported that t black female placed merchandise on the counter then asked for 2 cartons of Newport 100 cigarettes. The complainant rung up the merchandise and put it in plastic bags on the counter. The offender grabbed the plastic bags full of merchandise and ran out of the store. Witness stated the female offender got into a black Mercedes Benz and the vehicle left traveling south on N. Lansdowne Ave. Total loss $125.89. Checked area for offender with negative results.
