Police activity week of 02-01-10 through 02-07-10
02-01-10 16:54 Hours – Ptl. D. Schiazza – theft-under $50
Unit block E. Baltimore Ave. – Victims purse taken from counter of the Rite Aid Pharmacy. After viewing the surveillance tape a suspect was contacted and interviewed by Sgt. D. Donegan. Investigation to continue.
02-02-10 21:15 Hours – Sgt. D. Donegan – Sexual Assault
100 block E. Baltimore Ave. -The victim advised that she met the offender a couple of weeks ago and they agreed to go out and have some drinks. On the night of the incident the victim states she and the offender and two others whet to a club and she remembers leaving the club but nothing after that. She stated the next thing she remembers is waking up naked in the offender’s bed. She states she asked the offender if they had sex and at first he said no, then he said yes. The victim remembers nothing. Investigation to continue.
02-03-10 00:19 Hours – Ptl. T. Selimis – Driving under the influence
Marshall Rd. – While on routine patrol on E. Marshall Road observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit. It was snowing and the roads were slick. The offender was stopped by this officer and observed to have glassy blood shot eyes, his speech was slurred and he was dazed. Sgt. J. McCaughan did perform two field sobriety tests and the offender failed both. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged with DUI.
02-03-10 01:38 – Sgt. J. McCaughan – Driving under the influence
Mansfield Rd. – this officer was on routine patrol in the area of Lansdowne & Stratford Ave, it was snowing and the roadway conditions were slippery due to the snowfall. This officer received a cell phone from off duty LPD Officer L. Doyle, who stated he was following a possible intoxicated driver. Off. Doyle stated the vehicle was swerving in the roadway and almost struck the curb. When this officer arrived on the scene, Officer McGrenera of East Lansdowne Police had stopped the vehicle. The offender exhibited glassy eyes and slurred and emitted an odor of alcoholic beverage. The offender was taken into custody and will be charged with DUI.
02-03-10 10:45 Hours – Ptl. C. Brown – Criminal Mischief to automobiles
Unit block S. Lansdowne Ave. – This department received a report of a vehicle parked with a shattered rear window. On police arrival this officer located the vehicle which did have a shattered side rear passenger window. The victim was notified and responded to the area, he stated he parked his vehicle locked and intact on 2-2-10. The victim added that he is in the process of moving and had numerous clothing items in the backseat and a bag of paperwork containing his personal information that is now missing.
02-03-10 12:13 Hours – Ptl. C. Schiazza – Disorderly Conduct
100 block Green Ave. (PWHS) – Report of a disorderly subject in the attendance office at the high school. On police arrival this officer was advised that the offender was out of control in the hallway near the cafeteria. When the offender was being returned to the attendance office she punched the security officer and was flailing her arms and struck the security office in the nose. The school wanted the offender cited for disorderly conduct. The offender was returned to police headquarters cited and released.
02-05-10 16:37 Hours – Sgt. J. Eisenhart – Theft-$00 & over from buildings
100 block E. Stewart Ave. -The victim reports to police that after returning home from work she discovered her night stand drawer unlocked and her laptop computer and other things were missing. The victim has two other roommates, both drug addicts. Both roommates were gone from the apartment. Missing from the apartment is a brand new Acer Aspire black laptop and a Kodak Easy Share Digital camera and two iPods.
